Remember these DWARFS? Well, the good folks from Centimetre Warriors are still going strong and they have added a bunch more 10mm Dwarfs to their available shop. Let’s go over the offer, as it is quite nice!
Dwarf Gunners
Traditionally Dwarfs are an engineering race and gunpowder is/was their invention. So it is no wonder that they have adopted Handguns for a specialized ranged unit. The Handguns are usually medium range, but have a great punch, usually being Armor Piercing weapons in most Fantasy games. Some even go further and add a ranged hit bonus to the dwarf units, due to enhanced optics. These particular miniatures shine due to the bulkiness of the Handgun, the random scopes added to some of them and the Conquistador style helmet of the warriors.
Dwarf Crossbowmen
The original choice for the most traditional dwarf ranged options are crossbows. The clans that use crossbows put more emphasis on the tradition of dwarfs of old and scuff at the young one’s passion for loud explosions and smoke clouds. To be honest, the crossbows are a better option for additional range and lightly armored enemies, so sometimes (based on your opponent) you might want these to be your go to. I really like the hoods on these guys, as it implies they are more of a ranger type of fellows.
Dwarf Artillery
There is nothing more scarier then dwarf artillery. By far the most damaging weapons in the game are in the dwarf arsenal, starting from great cannons able to snipe dragons from afar and going through the fearsome flamethrower gun that lights whole regiments ablaze. Also, dwarfs are usually one of the few races that are able to enchant their artillery with extra accuracy or I am delighted to see both of these options present and while the cannon is quite classical looking, i am ecstatic about the Flamethrower. The Dragon head and the 2 fuel chambers give it a really menacing look, and it’s pretty obvious what it’s able to do by its looks.
Dwarf Gyrocopter
Lastly, the last of the high tech options is represented by the Dwarf Gyrocopter. This is a fast flying vehicle that usually sports a flame cannon and/or bombs. It’s designed to harass light troops and provide flank support in a traditionally slow army, although any consistent ranged attacks will swiftly bring it down. For my taste this Gyrocopter is a bit too round on the edges however i cannot deny that it fits totally with the design of the other dwarf units, and the flame cannon on its nose gives it a menacing look.
Dwarf King
Good general options are rare, and the Dwarf King on shield with 4 guards is a really nice looking command figure. He sits on his throne and even drinks some Ale, ready to bash some heads in with his scepter looking axe. A+ right here!
Dwarf Berserkers
Dwarf Berserkers are dwarfs who took a vow to die in battle fighting increasingly desperate odds. They have brought shame to them, their family or clan, so they form these suicide squads that fight unarmored but with a deadly fury. Usually Berserker units cannot be broken and run down, and they will just keep fighting until every last one of them is dead, making them a very good delaying unit. Don’t underestimate them though as they can easily defeat hordes of unskilled enemies and even down monsters with their “Slayer” rule.
All in all, a very good offering from the website and it’s shaping up to be a very good array of units so that you can have an army for your 10mm Dwarfs!
