1:100 T-34 – Plastic Soldier Company WW2v15001

The T-34 was way ahead of its time when the German army encountered it in 1941. Sloped armor, wide tracks and a superior gun made this a tank to be feared well into the ending stages of the war which saw it being upgraded time and time again.

Introduction

This is a wargaming kit made by Plastic Soldier in the 1/100 scale (15mm). The plastic quality and overall detail is excellent, as we came to expect from PSC.

Assembly Process

One major bonus for this kit is that it comes with 2 sets of turrets and you can easily switch between them to field either T-34/76 or T-34/85. That can save allot of money in “What you see is what you get” tournament play.

Next we assemble the tracks which are quite easy and self explanatory due to the small gaps left in the teeth of the track. Those small gaps easily guide you on how you should fit the wheels and tracks together.

After that is the upper hull which is very detailed however very easy to put together. First you will add the engine deck, after that glue the lower hull also and then add all other details.

Surely, the last part is just adding the tracks and fitting the turret on the body. I took 2 sets of pictures for each type of tank just to see how good they actually look.

Evaluation

Plastic Quality 5 (Perfect) Excellent in all points.
Number of Details 5 (Perfect) Amazing detail for 15mm. Gets a 5 for letting us customize 2 types of tanks.
Instructions 4 (Good) Instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Building Time 4.5 (Very Good) Under 15 minutes!
Enjoyment 5 (Perfect) Absolutely no complaint here.

So the PSC T-34 is a bit more expensive then the Zvezda one (that’s not saying much since the Zvezda one is dirt cheap) and about 1/2 as expensive as any metal model out there. Also, it can easily be customized into 2 types of T-34, in a pinch. What’s not to like?
