The BA-10 was a heavy armored car produced and used by the USSR during Second World War. As with all Soviet vehicles it had sloped armor and was packing quite a punch (45mm gun in the turret plus machineguns) for its size. About 3300 were produced during the whole war.
Introduction
This is a wargaming kit made by Zvezda in the 1/100 scale (15mm). Apparently it has 25 parts so it should be quite a complex little model.
Assembly Process
First we mount the cockpit. It looks complicated but it is not however don’t push the side doors all the way in or you will be unable to mount the roof.
Now just add the turret which is a simple 1 piece.
One thing i could not do was mount the front headlights that the model is supposed to have. I really doubt anyone could do that without professional modeling techniques and equipment. I gave up half-way when the plastic got bent (it’s less than 1 mm thick and about 4 to 5 mm long but it’s curbed like a snake) and didn’t even try to glue it in place.
Half of the model pieces is represented by the running gear. As you can see it is quite exhaustive however it is easy as pie to put together. Don’t forget to loosen a bit the holes in the wheels before pushing them in as it can save you some broken axles.
And with this we are actually done. Quite an easy task compared to the german Sdkfz. 222 which was kind of rough to do.
