1:100 Panzer III – Plastic Soldier Company WW2v15009

The Panzer III was designed to be the primary anti-tank vehicle of the German army however limitations of the chassis saw it transformed into an infantry support tank by 1943 and after that it was completely phased out of production. Its chassis proved to be reliable however for the continuous production of the StuG III series, which were quite successful.

Introduction

This is a wargaming kit made by Plastic Soldier in the 1/100 scale (15mm). As usual we have no flash and the plastic is of a good quality.

Assembly Process

The kit lets us assemble either an Ausf. F (37mm gun), Ausf. G (50mm gun) or Ausf. H (50mm gun). To note is that there were also Ausf. F’s that were retrofitted with the 50mm gun, Ausf. G’s that were produced initially with the 37mm gun and later upgraded to the 50mm and while the assembly instructions tell us that the Ausf. H just has some different wheels on the tracks the actual difference (from my knowledge) is that the H was the first variant where they strapped extra armor to the tank’s front.

Going over these small objections, it is quite nice to have the choice of 3 variants from a kit, so props for that!

We start with the turret pieces which are very easy. We first assemble the turret body and the gun and after that we stick them together and add all the details.

Next are the tracks and even though they are easy to put together pay attention to the detail that i have captured for you bellow. That’s the only “hard” part of this build.

After that we have to assemble the hull.

And after that all the other details (front plate with machine gun, lower hull, back engine).
