Also in Cluj a Battlegroup Kursk game was played!
A nice game of Battlegroup Kursk between Germans and Russians took place a while a go between Raul and Sergiu. The armies as they were:
Raul – Germans
Forward HQ (senior officer ) in Panzer IV/G
2 X Panzer Grenadier Squads (upgraded with anti tank mines and bipod MG42)
Stug III G Squadron (3 tanks with officer)
Supply Truck
Sergiu – Russians
Forward Observer
Rifle Platoon
3 X T-34
1 X SU-152
Supply Wagon
Memorable moments:
– A StuG stepped into a landmine and exploded spectacularly while another StuG miraculously survived 2 T-34’s shooting at him as a reaction.
– A Panzer Grenadier squad managed to pin most of the Russian infantry.
– A T-34 was abandoned right before – officer’s opinion – finishing a Panzer IV.
– The SU-152 took out a StuG but that was pretty much it.
The Russians won in the end but in Sergiu’s words: Allot of shooting and allot of missing!
