Raul Racolta shows us step by step how to paint an Imperial Cruiser for Battlefleet Gothic!

Tale of Romanian Wargamers

First off let’s just say that Raul is a guy that likes to convert allot. So with that in mind first he modified the Imperial Cruiser to his taste. Unfortunately you have to spot the changes for yourself because I’m no expert and can’t tell what he changed.

Apply black primer.

Basecolor. in this case I used Shadow Gray.

Light Drybrush with a mix of Shadow Gray and Dead White.

Tale of Romanian Wargamers

Armour plates and small details based with Wild Raider Red.

Highlights for the orange parts with Troll Slayer Orange and then a mix of the same color and Dead White.

Tale of Romanian Wargamers

Some details were painted with silver (gun barrels, antennas). Very light wash on side elements. I avoided using wash on the main body of the ship but i used a little watered down black to shade some important areas. I used pink with white for sensors or gun tips.

Tale of Romanian Wargamers

Very light drybrush for the engines and blue wash to finish. Wash is still fresh in the picture.

That’s it. it takes around 2 hours to finish. And it looks great on black because the colors are very bright.
