Just an amazing Puma Sd.Kfz 234/2 Armoured Car by Pawel Lesiak!
This is a Puma Sd.Kfz 234/2 Armoured Car in the 1/56 scale. The model is used with the Bolt Action set of wargaming rules. The detail on it is pretty amazing. Pawel was very kind about telling us about his paint job so expect a full step by step guide to his painting technique soon!
The model actually has 2 turrets available (1 was scratch built) and you can easily switch between them for added customization in the field of battle!
The 234/2 was armed with 1 x 5 cm KwK 39 L/60 gun and 1 x MG 34 machine gun. Employed a fully enclosed turret originally designed for the VK 1602 Leopard light tank. The turret front was protected by 30 mm armor set at an angle of 20° from the vertical. The sides and rear had 10 mm armor set at 25°, and the top plate was 10 mm armor. The gun mantlet was rounded and was 40 to 100 mm thick. It was capable of speeds of up to 85 km/h which qualified it as an excellent scouting vehicle. 101 were produced between September 1943 and September 1944 and were generally used by the German Panzer divisions.
